Grunging Your Prim Projects
Saturday, November 3, 2007

There are MANY, MANY recipes out there for getting that great grunged, dirty, antiquey look that is so popular. This is what I do:

I make a VERY strong coffee--like 6 heaping spoons of coffee to 3 cups of water. I pour that into a large pan. Then I add ( and there is no science to this--just whatever feels right) vanilla, cinnamon, and maybe some ground cloves or pie spice. Depending on the project, I also add candle scent. Mix this all up with the hot coffee. Then I just dunk my project in the pot. Swirl it around--use your hands, make sure all areas are covered. Then I run an old brush (or a sponge brush) across the bottom of the pot--to pick up some of the cinnamon that has settled. I put this "sludge" on the doll and rub it here and there! Put your project on a cookie sheet and bake at 250-300 until dry. Turn every 5 min. or so. Be sure to keep an eye on it! It WILL burn!! That's another story!!! LOL!!
