Craft Show Pics
Wednesday, October 15, 2008

I thought I'd post a few pics of the show. I was so TOTALLY NOT prepared for this. My table was too small, I didn't have any risers for displays. But I did the best I could with what I had!

I had one vendor come over and make a comment that my table was too full. I told her, "Well...you can't sell anything, if your store's not full!" She just turned around and left. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings, but who says that kind of thing to someone! Especially if you've never met them before. Manners, people! They go a LONG way in business and relationships. Maybe I was rude also, but at least I smiled and laughed when I said it! PLUS...what I said is true! How many times have you gone to Walmart like on a Saturday evening, and been disgusted when the shelves are half full. I hate it when I can't get what I want! Displays and Inventory are the two most important things at a show, besides YOU! How you present yourself is critical! I admit, I wore a sweatshirt and jeans to this one. NOT what I would ordinarily have worn. It was freezing outside and the wind was blowing hard that day. Most times I would have worn a nice blouse or holiday sweater.

Shari - you have so many wonderful items in your booth!
The comment from that vendor was really uncalled for. #1 it was really none of her business how much or how little anyone else has on their table, she should only concern herself with her OWN booth/table. #2 I don't think what you said was 'rude' at all, it was deserving. I'd probably have stood there with my mouth agape totally shocked that someone would criticize my table. At least you spoke up . Good for you!
