David's Home! David's Home
Friday, June 5, 2009

Me, Mike, and David. At my son Jacob's rehearsal dinner in June '07--6 months before David went into the Corps. I thank David for his sacrifice and am proud of the man he has become, but at the same time, I mourn the loss of the "boy"...

He arrived in Maine yesterday around 12:30 pm, and back at Camp Lejeune by 5ish. My baby is HOME!!! THANK GOD for bringing him home. All of you Mom's out there who have sons in the military, you know the constant feeling in the pit of your stomach...the unfailing faith that we carry. You NEVER ask the question...is he going to come home? You hold your breath the last couple of weeks of his tour and NEVER say out loud the thing that scares you to DEATH....will he make it home? When he touches American soil....we breathe again.
